Comment Re: Sounds like a problem (Score 1) 518

Your comment would perhaps apply to my argument if you had comprehended what I wrote, although it still wouldn't be fascism. Fascism would be forcing everyone to get immunized against their will.

I merely stated that we should remove any obligation or legal barrier that would prevent insurance companies from dropping willfully unvaccinated people, not that they had to do so. Frankly it's more libertarian capitalist.

But then screaming for freedom and then screaming for protection from the consequences of that freedom do seem to be hallmarks of conservative thought so I suppose having to live with your poor choices would seem like facism.

Comment Sounds like a problem (Score 3, Interesting) 518

Sounds like a problem that will resolve itself one way or another in the next pandemic. Honestly I have zero sympathy, they voted for these imbeciles, let them live with the consequences.

In fact, let's pass a law dictating that without full immunizations your insurance company has no obligation to pay for your healthcare and help accelerate the process.

Since when does "the truth" generate page views, eh? Any schmuck can write the truth, people want some sizzle, some mystery some ZAZZ!!

"Scientists fight off solar death cloud, Norfolk Southern investigated!" or "DeSantis saves US from clueless woke scientists trying to teach trans-solar rights!!!", now those would get some clicks!

Also nobody makes lumberjacks or farmers do meetings where they discuss maximizing time on project for an hour, cutting into the time on project.
Nobody makes them check their email, Teams, Zoom, Slack, etc for important customer requests every five minutes then penalizes them for being distracted and off task.
Nobody makes farmers or lumberjacks submit justifications for their job to their managers.
Nobody makes them spend hours per week doing HR quizzes, stroking their manager's egos or having to go around management's backs just to do their damn job.

Pretty much the lack of middle management is the key to happiness on the job, tbh.

As you reach a certain age the amount of hoops required to get something to behave in a manner that you wish is less interesting than just ignoring the thing to begin with. I mean, if I really wanted to invest the time I could desolder the button and permanently remove it, but I choose to just glare at it angrily. It's less time consuming and somewhat more satisfying.

Then explain Malawi? They have no extractible resources and thus no foreign exploitation of resources.

Hmmm nope, Malawi is busy exporting tobacco, tea and cane sugar instead of lithium. 50% of which goes to the EU, former colonizers, surprise surprise. Same exploiters, different resources. Furthermore, they are highly rural, 80% of their economy is agriculture and one of their main exports (tobacco) is rapidly declining. They are heavily in debt to the IMF and facing deforestation and land erosion.

Oh, it's always fair to call them kleptos, because they will find some way to shortcut you, even if they have to buy up another industry you depend on through shell companies and hold you hostage with it instead. There is no politician who can ever compare to the grifting power of the average multinational.
