The so called "owner" (ownership recognized by whom?) was reportedly going to sell to a city mayor, who seemed to have ambition for PM. Abe then officially "annexed" all those islands by "nationalizing" the rest of the islands (Japan "nationalized" some years before). Abe got rid of an opportunity for a potential rival while also hoping to get new land without consequences. Of course China knows how to react properly. Japan set up this kind of zone many years before to give it an excuse to use fighters. Now China got the same rights which Japan had enjoyed for many years to bully Chinese fishing boats. So no more bullying, simple as that.

It is actually called "Air defense recognition zone". Even an aircraft carrier has such a zone too while moving. It is more like a surveillance zone (not applicable to the NSA though as it covers the whole world). The war threat was reportedly a response to Japanese threat to shoot down Chinese drones over disputed islands.

What you say is true, but Russia can easily become an enemy of China.

Not as easy as you think. Russia needs money and China needs resource and has a lot of labor. China's strategy definitely is to transfer as much Russian technology as possible when Russia either has to abandon it or sell while it still can. Meanwhile American weapon makers are just hyping things up for whatever reason.

So you are not friendly to China and wanted to know why the US is friendly to China. Well, the short answer is the US capitalists and Chinese communists are in bed to exploit the Chinese people. If you want the US to exploit your country instead, either your country is not big enough or your people is not hard working enough.

Because no body really lost anything due to hacking. Do you really believe anything valuable (for the government and military) is even accessible from the internet? They have internal networks separated from the internet.

The reason the US is accusing China of hacking is simple a way to deepen the impression that the Chinese are pirates of intellectual properties. The US is probably using this as a bargaining chip. China of course has complained about a lot things on the US side but the US media will not report them or report them in way that makes China seem unreasonable.

I believe in the minds of most Americans China invokes the images of mass starvation because of the man made disasters in the 1960's. Those were the crazy years because a lot of production was simply not allowed because of ideology. Despite those years, in Mao' era, China's population actually doubled from like 400m to 800m. China's problem has always been ideology, causing man made disasters time and time again. This time I think Apple is doing the honorable thing, at least setting an example for doing the right thing.
