Comment Freshmen Year HS (Score 1) 623

Took Computer Programming as freshmen at my high school. The teacher started by talking about the computer, languages, and coding stressing spaghetti code horror stories. We then discussed a sample problem, the flow chart for it, and the code. We then programmed an Apple II. Next we learned the Basic Language. The rest of the class was: pick a problem, flowchart it, write it in pseudo code, program it in Basic, test it, have fun. I wrote a tank program with simple sound and color that hunted down my friend and blew him away for the class project which was the majority of the grade.

The Supreme Court already decided that mail order companies do not have to collect state sales tax if the company does not have a physical presence in the customer's state. So how does ordering online via web browser differ much logically from ordering from a mail order catalog and using the 800 phone #? A bankrupt state will tax anything that moves. The vendor already pays property tax and profit tax. The consumer is paying property tax and other taxes that already cover utility for road use and such.

This is b.s. An Italian doctor traveled for years documenting how all animals, not just mammals but birds and insects, try to alter their consciousness with "booze". He wrote a book titled "Animals and Psychedelics: The Natural World and the Instinct to Alter Consciousness".

James Chanos http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Chanos shorted Autonomy before HP bought it. When HP overpaid, he had to cover short, but made good when he shorted HP. Maybe HP should have consulted with him before the purchase as he sells his research. Chanos is the one who shorted Enron and Worldcom.
