Comment Charger in garage (Score 1) 271

I like to drive straight in to my garage. The electric supply comes from the house side, not the garage door side. I placed a charger 3/4 of the way down the wall and I had to run conduit and expensive electric cable that could handle 60 amps all that distance. It would have been a less expensive install and there would be less conduit visible if I had a charger mounted on the interior wall of the garage and a front charging port.

Comment Life in prison if a hospital was attacked (Score 1) 34

If they have good evidence of a hospital being hit by one of the ransomeware attacks I hope that the people involved are arrested, convicted and placed in prison for the rest of their lives. These kinds of computer attacks pose a serious risk to hospitalized people and they demand a harsh punishment.

Comment Android eSIM on Verizon was easy (Score 1) 89

I have an S22 and I was curious if the AT&T network was better where I often travel. For $2 + $11 I got to try out a new provider that uses AT&T. It was easy to install and activate the eSIM. I did not have to contact Verizon. I found out there were some places where AT&T GSM is better but I found it awkward to switch texting until Android 13. Now it is quite easy to pick which SIM I want to use.

Comment 0 chance anyone but the super rich will fly (Score 2) 116

I agree completely! The planes cost $200,000,000. They might fly 2 trips a day with 75 passengers each. They might be in service 350 days per year. That's 52,500 tickets sold each year to cover the interest and depreciation on a $200,000,000 plane. Add maintenance and fuel and I don't see how you are getting on a MIA to LHR flight for under $10,000
