Comment Re:Logitech iFeel (Score 1) 202

Black and White was another game that supported the iFeel, unfortunately, i never had one so i can't say how well it worked there.

Honstly, i'd be happy if logitech would start replacing the plastic that hits the microswitches with metal so that they wouldn't wear down after a while and require manual modifications to make them click properly again.

For the sake of argument, let's assume this is the case. (And to correct me if I am wrong here.) To be able to block, at the very least the packet header has to be examined. If remote attacker can generate packets faster than you can examine and drop them, you've just been DoS'ed. Multiply the number of packets by the number of computers in China...

I will correct you.

Generating enough packets to DoS a router would do you no good against the rest of the network. The router's buffers would all fill up and any traffic from China to say, the US would experience 99% packet loss. After this "first line of defense border router", the traffic would be relegated down to the maximum throughput the router supports, so, aside from causing some latency issues w/ longer than normal buffer queues, i don't think this would take down an entire network.

Basically china would be DoS'ing itself from the outside world as all border routers would be DoS'ed from it's own traffic.

While you're correct from a US legal aspect, you fail to mention that the ability to travel freely is a fundamental aspect of liberty.

Just because that's the law, doesn't make it right.

So it's okay to drive a tank 10mph on a highway?? I mean it's my right to travel freely so i should be able to travel in what vehicle I choose and at what speed I choose right? How about school zones? I hate those pesky things and i always drive 50 mph through them to get out of them ASAP. This is also my right, correct?

I also have the right to tailgate someone. It's more gas efficient for me that way.

What the parent forgets is that driving is not a /right/. If you want to construct a race track on your private property and see how fast you can go, i'm all for it. But the moment you endanger someone else with your reckless driving on a public road, you /should/ be ticketed, or more severe punishment depending on the severity of the incident.
