Of the ones that aren't:

- US based, or have a US operator would comply with a NSL or go to prison
- Almost any western country gets the same result, but with extra steps
- Russia or China- depends on whether they were state sanctioned, and whether or not they want to give them up
- Anywhere else wouldn't offer enough protection of the US gov wanted to fuck you bad enough

Even the swiss banking system eventually caved to the US, although we've probably lost enough control that wouldn't happen again.

And of course we're not even talking about a Chevy vs a BWM- its the difference between a Chevy and a McLaran. Or a fishing boat and a yacht.

When the US still had an inheritance tax the first $10,000,000 was exempt. Shortly after the tax was abolished in 2017 a Koch brother died and passed on 50B+ tax free. Thats 25B that will get made up by the average worker, instead of his kids who literally did nothing to earn that money.

In what way is deprecating master/slave removing the term from the language?

To use your example of the n-word- it is 100% acceptable in the context of Huckleberry Finn, and is certainly not going to removed from that book. Before you come back with 'but its banned! it isn't acceptable!', there is nuance to why some districts drop it. It needs context, and sadly some schools and students aren't capable of dealing with it. Its usage of the word is _exactly_ what Twain intended- it was a slur then and its a slur now.

The places that are H1-B heavy are just stacking bodies and/or looking for slave labor. Obviously there are some _extremely well qualified_ H1-Bs that are above me in education and talent, but those the exception.

If management is looking for their best ROI and not body count, then the average H1-B doesn't affect me directly, although they probably do have a general impact on salaries. I don't particularly want to work for places that abuse the H1-B system again anyway.

I've already had the keyboard replaced on mine once, and it just started sticking again. Its only 2 years old. I either want it permanently fixed or replaced. They literally sold me a defective product that has been doomed to fail since the start, and will never last more than a year between $1000 fixes.

Yeah- I think that part of SpaceX's 'tax' or 'launch requirements' should be to provide a network of low-mid power space telescopes that are available for public use. I'd bet they could engineer something with a ~30" mirror and launch 60 at a time. It may be less romantic than a back yard telescope, but they'd be better than +99% of ground scopes.
