Intel's Tick-Tock Cycle Skips a Beat 84

New submitter Ramze writes: Several outlets are reporting on Intel's confirmation that it will make three generations of 14nm processors, delaying the switch to 10nm. The planned 14nm Kaby Lake processor marks the first time Intel has skipped the "tick" of a die shrink on its regular "tick/tock" cycle. Production of Cannonlake processors on 10nm has been pushed back to the second half of 2017 — likely due to manufacturing difficulties. Intel reported earlier this year that it may have to switch away from silicon to exotic materials such as indium gallium arsenide to make the next shrink to 7nm.

it is not advertised, but you can still get in Sprint Framily plan if you know your way. It costs $25 for 1GB or $45 for unlimited data with no contract. This plan allows roaming, so while the coverage is not on par with Verizon, it is still much better than with any prepaid carriers.

Don't even think that you are getting the same quality of service with prepaid (MVNO) operators Large carriers have roaming agreement with each other and independent tower operators. With MVNOs you are getting only the basic service from the core network. My wife uses a PagePlus phone- it can't compare in coverage with a proper Verizon postpaid phone.

Comment about helmets (Score 1) 947

Bike helmet is not terribly effective. Large study of motorcycle accidents showed that the majority of damages were to the areas not covered by bicycle helmets. My personal experience confirms it. Search google images for "hurt report helmet", there is a nice illustration. I never ride my motorcycle without a full face helmet. On a bicycle I don't bother.
