Python allows annotations to document parameter and return types as well as variable types. Most other languages have some sort of auto typing system ("auto" in C++, "var" in C#) to behave more like Python. So these days you can do it either way in most languages. If you're writing bad code or working with people who don't document their code that's a problem regardless of language.

Actually you don't know what you're talking about.

They forced Half-Life (and Counter-Strike, which at the time a lot of people were buying HL for CS. This was before CS:Source) onto Steam. Steam had some issues at the time and people were mad that this game that had been working fine for years was unplayable because it suddenly required this new service.

My userid is in the 3000s. I remember making an account the first night Steam went live.

I used Kubuntu for a long time but because of some bugs found myself back on stock Ubuntu. It turns out with a couple of extensions Gnome isn't bad. Primarily "gnome tweak tool" and "dash to panel", which makes it behave much like KDE with a little customization. It would be nice if some of this stuff was built in.

If those are your goals this is the shortest way to get it across. I wonder if she has her e-mail set up to automatically start each e-mail with "As a LatinX female ".

Except you can't buy a car from another state and register it in California if it doesn't have a sticker saying it passes California emissions standards.

The car manufacturers didn't used to put the 50 state or CA emissions stickers on all of the cars. I'm assuming they had to pay extra for the sticker. This led to problems when people started buying cars on the internet. If you bought a car considered "new" from out of state (less than 7K miles and I think less than 10 years old) you would not be allowed to register it in California until you've had it in CA for at least 2 years. No test you can take to get around this. It had to have the sticker or sit in your garage for 2 years. When I bought my car from out of state I had trouble getting a loan because of this. The credit union had run into this problem on a previous loan so they just wouldn't deal with out of state purchases anymore.

This is a talking point that is thrown around a lot but doesn't happen in practice.
Here is a study that looked at all active shooter cases from 2000 to 2017 and found that armed citizens have a 94% success rate at having a positive effect (reducing the amount of people shot or stopping the shooter) and innocent bystanders were shot in 0 cases. Obviously this source is biased so feel free to scrutinize the data.

There are an estimated 500,000 or more cases per year of defensive gun uses according to the last CDC study on the issue. There is also the practical application of hunting, which keeps certain animal populations from creating problems. There are definitely benefits to owning them. What we are seeing is people who have no interest in owning them demanding they be taken away from other people.
