I really don't see how this would make us any fatter. If you think the Fastfood joints are going to lower their prices just because they don't have to pay as many or any workers you're mistaken. They know we are use to paying x amount for a burger and they will all collude to make sure that there is only very minor differences in all their pricing schemes

Indeed it quit working for like 20 minutes. It is working now so I dunno what the problem is. I've seen it do the same thing before but never for more than 15 to 30 minutes. Must be a slow news day.

When you're talking about interstellar distances "Just" is an appropriate term to put in front of a distance as small as 12 light years. At our current space flight capabilities it would take us ages to get there. How ever 12 light years is do able, in terms of physics and engineering. We would have to be willing to commit to a very serious project to build the ship though and I don't foresee any government willing to do that in the near future.
