maratumba writes: According to a message sent to it's users, Steam servers are hacked and user names, passwords and "encrypted" credit card information are compromised.
Although they do not have evidence of credit card misuse at this time, Valve recommends changing passwords and keeping an eye on the credit card activity.

Tried searching for "BitTorrent," "RapidShare," "uTorrent," "MegaUpload" or even "Ubuntu torrent" lately? Good luck finding a Google domain that'll autocomplete those results for you. Presumably caving to pleading from the MPAA and / or RIAA, El Goog has quietly begun to censor the results it shows when typing the above terms.

maratumba writes: Apparently, to take a picture of your friend on Laguna Beach, you have to apply for a permit 2 days in advance and pay $50 per hour of taking pictures. No, we really are talking about non-commercial, family-friend pictures. And they are taking this seriously. If you don't have a permit, you may end up paying a $400 fine.

maratumba writes: WikiLeaks has released a document set called the Afghan War Diary, an extraordinary compendium of over 91,000 reports covering the war in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2010.
The reports, while written by soldiers and intelligence officers, and mainly describing lethal military actions involving the United States military, also include intelligence information, reports of meetings with political figures, and related details.
