The non-working parent then financially depends on their spouse. In many professions forever, since it's hard to get a job after say a 10-year break. Nothing has done more to empower women recently than having them be a part of workforce.

However one or both parents working reduced hours, that can work.

Does any of this apply to architecture?

Of course. Not as critically as above, but if I were going over plans for my house with an architect, I would expect them to be able to answer most questions on the spot and rarely say "I need to check that, I can answer tomorrow".

Not a panacea either. Any non-trivial system has a non-trivial definition of how exactly it should behave. If each implementation defines its own, they'll never agree on anything non-trivial. But if all your implementations use the same definition, you're not safe from bugs in the definition itself. Of course, you're not safe from that with unit tests, either.

Poor sanitation is not positively correlated with covid cases. Everyone expected huge breakouts in poor and crowded parts of Africa, Brazilian favelas, refugee camps etc, but little of that happened. One theory has it that it's primarily spread by air (not droplets), and the poor or no housing actually helps because it's (unintentionally) well ventilated.
