The construction is in a hiatus.

For many the hiatus will be eternal. The only reason its not been stopped is that the cost of getting a new permit if it ever becomes profitable to build nuclear power again.

The reason: Wind and sun power is cheaper to build and maintain.

HTML5 is meant to kill off Flash. Java on the web never really took off.

Actually, its all about the energy in the food that matters. If you insist on eating a lot of food the body will grow in weight and if you eat less you won't.

Short term it will be stored as sugar in the blood and long term overconsumption will be stored as fat. So celebrating one day and eating alot of food won't make you increase in weight. But long term overeating will.

Diets like 5:2 uses the 2 days of not eating to cleanse the blood from extra sugar - which are consumed the days of not eating alot.

Atkinsons diet uses the fact that protein rich food contains less energy to get people to eat the same amount but consume less energy.

Its not magic. Its just pure science. Or simply put: Shit in, shit out.

Those using sweetener is probably so addicted to the sweet taste, that they consume alot of other products which give that taste. Thust they overconsumate on food and get too much energy. So it can be better to altogheter do away with the need for sweet food.

Tories + DUP is a majority. And with SF not even gonna bother to send MPs to take the few seats they got its a workable solution.
DUP is the "english-irish" and SF is the "irish-irish" from Northem ireland.

Yes, its gonna be wobbly since MPs does not have to vote for their own party. So the whip is gonna need to work overtime to make sure all votes goes the right way.

On the other hand May said if she loses 6 MPs she gonna resign. Now she lost 12 and gonna stay anyway.

Submission + - HBO's Silicon Valley Joins the Push for a Decentralized Web (ieee.org)

Tekla Perry writes: Fictional HBO Silicon Valley character Richard Hendricks sets out to reinvent the Internet in something decentralized, with no firewalls, no tolls, no government regulation, no spying. That sound a lot like what Brewster Kahle, Tim Berners-Lee, and Vint Cerf have been calling the decentralized web. Kahle tells IEEE Spectrum about how closely HBO's vision matches his own, and why he's happy to have this light shined on the movement.

Submission + - Court Allows Case Over Violating Open Source License (lexology.com)

destinyland writes: The District Court for the Northern District of California recently issued an opinion that is being hailed as a victory for open source software. In this case, the court denied a motion to dismiss a lawsuit alleging violation of an open source software license, paving the way for further action enforcing the conditions of the GNU General Public License... As part of its motion to dismiss, Hancom argued that using open source code offered under open source licensing terms does not form a contract...

the District Court ruled that Artifex's breach of contract claim could proceed, finding that the GPL, by its express terms, requires that third parties agree to the GPL's obligations if they distribute the open-source-licensed software [and] concluded that royalty-free licensing under open source conditions does not preclude a claim for damages... in denying a motion to dismiss, the District Court only holds that the claims may proceed on the theories enunciated by Artifex, not necessarily that they will ultimately succeed. Still, the case represents a significant step forward for open source plaintiffs... In the past decade, while enforcement of open source licensing violations has become more common, few enforcement cases result in published law. The open source community will be watching this case carefully, and this initial decision vindicates the rights of the open source authors to enforce GPL terms on both breach of contract and copyright theories.
