If they were smart, they'd release the keys for ripping after a month and get everyone but the most dedicated pirates out of the loop. I'd feel a lot better about buying BD disks if I knew a guaranteed rip was coming one month later. As it stands right now, I'll rent them but hold off on buying them until I could possibly rip them (which I might or might not, but I like to have the choice).

National Security Letters Reform Act Reintroduced 117

eldavojohn writes "A bill introduced today, similar to one that died in 2007, would reform the plague of National Security Letters and greatly narrow their scope. The new test is detailed in the journal Annals of Neurology. It measures the cerebral-spinal fluid concentration of two biochemicals associated with the disease — amyloid beta42 peptide and tau protein."

Irish Domain Registry Banning Adult Domains 222

Karate Sid writes "An Irish adult website has blogged about the Irish domain registry banning adult domain names, including porn.ie and pornography.ie. The IEDR's reasoning is that the words 'porn' and 'pornography' are offensive and immoral. Of interest is how Sex.ie took legal action against the IEDR — and proved that neither word is offensive — yet still lost the case, as the IEDR are the highest authority in Ireland when it comes to deciding what is and isn't an offensive domain."
