Comment Privacy Legislation (Score 2) 231

Anyone want to start a conversation regarding new privacy legislation where consumer electronics come into play? First, Comey saying there is no such thing as privacy any more, paraphrasing of course. Second, your browsing history up for grabs to the highest bidder. Third, this goes on and on. EULA is the devil in all details and should be abolished. When do citizens get to realize the bill of rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of what? Submission?

Comment Free Data (Score 2) 75

Really, the only thing left for those who are not incarcerated is, "Just give us a sample of your DNA. We already have everything else." I wonder long term what kind of effect this will have on humankind. If you develop a sense that nothing you do is private, then you become nothing more than a slave to those who have access to the data mine. These agencies have access to so much information, you must now assume that they know more about you than you. I have also wondered who audits this data and can they guarantee authenticity and integrity?

How does this surprise me. Humm, socialist leaning, ignorant, dumb, ID10T, whining little man. So sorry you were hacked by your own, and by extension, an absent, overworked, and equally ID10T IT folks. Unreal, really... We have been sitting on internet related security for over a decade and they, being the entitled, still feel like they can just ignore everything. And they know best, right?

Comment Tactile (Score 1) 260

After twenty years of discussion, short answer is yes. People love tactile things. One could argue it is part of human nature to touch and feel among other things. So yes, this is a dream that will not be realized for some time to come.

Comment Sad Reality (Score 1) 149

Something that I have always had a beef with is software companies. Does Ford, Toyota, or any other hard goods manufactures state or enforce what I would call "left turn Sundays?" Where, as a part of a Ford EULA for example, states it is the company's right and requirement that you as an owner (not really) are required to make left turns only on Sunday. If you fail to do this, then we have a right to take you to court and prosecute. Let's not even talk about arbitration. If EA left a wide open window in its API or SDK, it's their fault. Period. Anyone want to talk about IoT and DDoS in this regard? Same thing...
