The only offered method for dealing with a forgotten ftp/shell password is to force a reset through the panel, either by having one generated on request or by providing one yourself. It is displayed only once after that point, in the panel, as a confirmation.

Presumably, if an OtherOS user were to purchase such a title and attempt to install it, they would be forced to make a choice - return the game, or lose OtherOS. Since games are a regular part of the PS3 - not necessarily like the PSN - it would be a more serious legal contention. Anyone know of such games?

It would be an important test, were it ruled upon instead of simply dismissed. However, I do believe that the contention of forcing consumers to make a Hobson's choice (Take A, lose B -ELSE- Take B, lose A) constitutes a potentially serious legal issue. I therefore consider the Judge to have made an incorrect decision on this case.
