I haven't been to Tulsa but I have been to various cities throughout the Midwest of the US. While they are sprawling there is typically a thriving downtown area complete with dining options, bars, and recreation options. You won't be walking to get groceries, however a reasonable coverage by gig economy apps that can perform delivery services could easy cover that gap if you are living in or relatively close to the downtown area. Even then, you might be able to handle the grocery errand option via Uber/Lyft.

And, yes, I agree that Bill Clinton should have been convicted. Not so much for the blowjob, but for lying about it. Perjury isn't often prosecuted, but presidents should be held to a higher standard.

The perjury charge against Clinton was among the least important of the charges against him. Two of the charges against him were for suborning perjury. While lying under oath is a problem, perverting justice by encouraging others to do it is even worse.

Romney at least had the good sense to recognize the BS that was the obstruction of Congress charge. At the end of the day, the Democrats brought forth a case for abuse of power that was dependent entirely upon hearsay and conjecture. My opinion had always been that the Democrats went through with impeachment about 1-2 months too early. They had subpoenas for witnesses that were going to be challenged in court. They just needed to resolve that and continue the investigation. My opinion on them completely soured when I later learned that they filed a dismissal motion and withdrew the subpoenas. They never had intention of doing a proper investigation.

At the end of the day, the whole bit about Bolton was insanity. No one knew what Bolton would say. No prosecution or defense should bring forth a new witness into a trial without first deposing the witness meaning instead you're conducting your investigation in the process of trial. I honestly, cannot figure out what is going through the Democrat's brains at this point. Their behavior and approach with this impeachment was entirely irrational.

One example of silly voter ID laws I stumbled across is that supposedly in Texas it is ok to use gun registration as your Id but not your student ID. 8^)

It's not silly. The whole point of voter ID is to prove residency. The Texas handgun carrying license requires you to prove residency. A handgun registration document wouldn't be valid for voting in Texas because they're one of those 7 states that have strict ID requirements. They don't allow alternative documentation. If you could use a gun registration document to vote it's going to be due to the document having your address on it, thus proving your residency.

Blizzard is in trouble but not for financial reasons. They're still making money hand over fist with WoW and that behemoth will keep lumbering along generating revenue out of sheer momentum.

Blizzard's issue is their IP is stagnant. They've fallen into a cycle of generating revenue from micro transactions and lootboxes. Their big IPs they've managed to kick themselves in the ass when it comes to storylines. Warcraft has been locked into WoW. They provided an ending to StarCraft and they left very few, if any, loose ends in Diablo. They've rereleased StarCraft, Warcraft III, and WoW Classic with updated graphics. Their options for story are to look to the past. They dusted off StarCraft: Ghost and instead of making it a unique style of gameplay, which it was originally announced, they adapted the story and gameplay for StarCraft II to sell it as a trio of microtransactions. Their only new IP has been Overwatch and that really hasn't been going anywhere.

I'm just waiting for them to dust off Lost Vikings or Rock and Rock Racing in order to see the hot mess they create.

Blizzard's stuck in the past and not looking to the future. StarCraft II failed to attract the same level of eSport attention as StarCraft. Hereos of the Storm failed to effectively capitalize on LoL/DotA2. They're stuck looking at the what could have been and keep trying to take back what they thought should have been theirs. That's exactly what this message on copyright is telling us.

That could happen even if purchases are staggered. I've bought devices years after my initial purchase where I've had serial numbers that fall in line with the serial numbers from my original purchase. It's not a commissioned device so it makes me wonder if this is just a function of bad inventory management on the vendor's part or we're one of the few customers for the devices.

As for a real life example of serial numbers being exploited, it was done in World War II by allied forces. They recorded the serial numbers from German tanks and were able to determine the Germans were using sequential serial numbers. They were able to make fairly good estimates of the German industry's ability to produce tanks.

You don't even need to worry about buying in bulk and having a bunch in sequence. That's inconsequential. All the attacker needs to know is the serial number ranges for models and the model of the device being attacked. Since the password pattern is identical they can just run a brute force against a finite number of passwords. For a company that employs multiple devices with default passwords it just means all subsequent attempts against devices should be done against a far narrower range based on the successful password from the first. It saves some time but in the end the attacker can still use the brute force method.

Does anyone use self-checkout for any reason other than "The line was too long at the regular checkout"?

I use it because the staff are atrocious at bagging. I don't like them mixing my raw meat with raw produce. I've ended up with human staff bagging items in a way that makes it top heavy and I end up at home with the contents spilled that I just have to end up rebagging to carry inside.

Peanuts you might have me there. I think they have plastic tubes loaded with nuts that you can fill a bag with. I've never bought those that way so I don't know how they handle it but my guess is that it's similar to the bulk rolls I've bought before where you just have to do item lookup at checkout. Regardless, it's an overall minority of items available at the store, and low volume specialty items at that, where the customer would potentially have to generate a barcode for the self-checkout. Everything that is done in volume has a barcode on it in some way or an employee is generating that barcode (raw meat & seafood) before the customer handles the product.

I use self-checkout just because of bagging. I don't know what grocery stores are doing but employees doing bagging are horrid. When I've used checkout lanes with people I've tried to order the items I put on the belt in order to influence how they bag everything and I still get them doing things I don't want like mixing the raw meat with the fresh produce or loading heavy items on top of lighter items which is far more obnoxious because the bag ends up top heavy and I would have to rebag items when I got home due to spillage during transport.
