Likely 4-8 weeks prior to launch. This was just a first-run fit test of the joining of Starship & Booster. Need to finish plumbing , electrical , etc on tower, and pressure testing / static fire of the rockets on both the booster (29 engines) and starship (6 engines).

Battery Lifetime is a solved problem, and was only an issue on early models that didnt do thermal protection systems (Nissan Leaf).
Fast charging is common across all the interstates throughout the country, and only getting better daily.
Petroleum subsidies are the only thing keeping them cheaper than battery cars at the moment, so why do you complain when the subsidies are just SHIFTING to safer alternatives!

Software Beta testing maybe less costly, but this is HARDWARE, with fixed costs, and not-cheap phased array antennas. They are charging high amounts at first, which is exactly the way Tesla promoted it's initial products. Sell high, verify service / support / infrastructure. achieve manageable volume, sell lower cost later, get more volume.

Not all companies are like Comcast.

Which part of BETA do you not understand?

There will be cheaper plans, subsidized plans, etc.

They need to prove out their infrastructure & support capabilities, but can still provide current services. Once they have proven capabilities to thousands of customers, they will qualify for government programs, etc.

Anyone want to bet that they are just giving "saline injections" instead of actual vaccine to ensure their military thinks it's safe to rough up the protesters ?

Additionally, they want to seem to be ahead of the rest of the world for vaccinations for both political effect and to keep the hopes up of the population.

Anyone want to bet whether Trump tries to pull the same stunt ?

Submission + - ICANN finally halts $1.1bn sale of .org registry, claims it's 'the right thing' (theregister.co.uk) 1

Charlotte Web writes: ICANN has halted the proposed $1.1bn sale of the .org registry to an unknown private equity firm, claiming this was “the right thing to do.”

The DNS overseer has been under growing pressure to use its authority to refuse the planned transfer of the top-level domain from the Internet Society to Ethos Capital, most recently from the California Attorney General who said the deal “puts profits above the public interest.”

ICANN ultimately bowed to the US state's top lawyer when it concluded today it “finds the public interest is better served in withholding consent.”
