My credit union is headquartered in the Washington D.C. area, yet I can use ATMs all over the world, and all over the US without any fee. I can go to a local credit union here in California to have in-person consultations about my accounts, I can deposit checks using my phone or in person at the local credit union. Most credit unions belong to a system that makes this very easy. So, your example of Harvard Credit Union is invalid because they could just visit a local credit union in Silicon Valley and have full access.

I switched from Wells Fargo, who I had been banking with for 15 years, to a credit union. It took me all of maybe 30 minutes online to switch my two direct deposits to the new account, and just a few minutes to set up my bill pay on the new system. Such an ordeal! You're just lazy.

The number of people commenting here that are simping for the airline industry is absurd. The airlines are cheating EVERYBODY, not only the customers but the employees, too. All for more executive pay and shareholder dividends and stock buybacks. They're not saving customers money, that's the absurd thought.

Comment PHEV is perfect for us (Score 1) 613

Of course, each person's needs are different. But, for us, a PHEV has proven to be the perfect choice. We purchased a 2022 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring, a PHEV with 30-miles (on average) electric range. We can charge it at home using our solar panels every other day to make the work commute or around-town errands electric-only. But, when we make longer drives, like visits to family 2.5 hours away or vacation road trips, the gasoline engine is there to operate in hybrid mode for about 40 mpg overall.

My '22 Lincoln already displays navigation in a HUD on the windscreen, along with other pertinent information. The NAV can be from the built-in navigation or from Android Auto/Apple Carplay (whichever you might be using). It even displays the song title/artist info.

My Uber account was caught up in this mess. During this debacle, my account was hijacked by someone in Russia who was charging over $200US in rides to my credit card. I reported it to Uber security and they acted like *I* was the criminal. They were refusing to do anything, refusing to refund me, claiming they had proof that I had taken the rides (while I was home in the US, and have never been to Russia). I threatened to report to government and media, so Uber closed my account and banned me. I had to do a chargeback on my credit card. I recently tried to open a new Uber account and I am still blocked. Meanwhile, this a**hole gets a slap on the wrist for the coverup. F*** UBER!

Case in point - I have a 200 amp service. There is no way I could add a level 2 charger, not if want to continue to heat the house and have hot water anyway

WTH???? We have 200A service. We have a 50A dedicated circuit for the EV charging station. We also have electric dryer, water heater, pool pump, 5-ton A/C, etc. There's no problem supplying power for charging a car.
