Really? Have you lived in both Canada and the US for at least 10 years or more so that you actually have a first hand knowledge / experience of both systems and can thus be objective or are you just towing a political line?

Canadian health care, quality is pretty good - but your options for access are limited and the types of treatments and drugs offered are limited compared to the US (IMHO). Unless you are a critical case, good luck getting access to advanced services - like an MRI for example, any time soon... I've seen people on a waitlist for a year or more for an MRI, or a hip/knee replacement, etc. b/c they were older and non-critical cases. So yes, *everyone* has "free" healthcare - except, it's not really free b/c you pay for it in your much higher tax rates and if you live in ON, you have an additional "premium - don't call it a tax!" that you have to pay annually.

In the US, you have lower taxes, and your health care insurance is not rolled into your taxes, so you have to pay for it separately. Yes, US insurance companies *suck* but you have fast access to services, and access to services and drugs that Canada doesn't/won't offer or even doesn't cover. Just b/c it's social health care in Canada doesn't mean they offer everything under that - it's just a different form of insurance, where if you don't like it, you have no choice in the matter b/c there is only 1 insurance provider. (Except maybe if you live in QC)

USA. Yes, you have do deal with insurance companies, yes you need insurance, but once you have insurance it's much faster access and better options.

Exactly why I left Canada when I did (10 years ago.) I saw this coming a mile away, it's not like it happened overnight, but too many people in Canada have their heads in the sand.

Well you know if Trump said this everyone would be crapping on him and how it's not achievable and he's a liar. Now that it's Biden it's a "goal." While I'm no Trump fan, remember who started/led the initiative that Biden is now going to take credit for.

You cannot try to deduce a western liberal outcome for China. China has fundamentally different values. If you think this is going to happen in China, you are sadly mistaken. Westerners have been thinking along this line for a long time - if we trade with them, open the doors to western education, etc. they will become more westernized and eventually change their ways. Nope. Not going to happen. Unless there is a civil war in China (very unlikely as they control how you think), or we in the west decide to invade and tear down the entire communist apparatus, it will never happen.

So, basically, how much is your morality worth? It will be interesting to see who chooses their bottom line over their ethics.

This "story" is only breaking b/c Musk is supporting the WSB GME efforts and this is the big hedge fund companies retaliating by proxy. CNN *is* in their pockets.
