I was browsing around the management website of a Samsung telephone system once, saw the DST settings and thought I would take a look. There were about seven lines, with text boxes for the month, day, year, hour, minute, second that a DST change would occur. I thought to myself, "what happens when these seven years have passed?" Does the phone system update itself, or will our times suddenly be of because it has no entries for DST? Either way, that has to be the worst implementation of DST I have ever seen.

Submission + - Sandy Bridge Is Broken Under Linux (semiaccurate.com)

kai_hiwatari writes: If you try to use Sandy Bridge under Linux, it is simply broken. We tried to test an Intel DH67BL (Bearup Lake) with 2GB of Kingston HyperX DDR3, an Intel 32GB SLC SSD, and a ThermalTake Toughpower 550W PSU. At first we tried to install vanilla Ubuntu 10.10/AMD64 from a Kingston Datatraveler Ultimate 32GB USB3 stick. The idea was that it would speed things up significantly on install.

Submission + - Wikipedia meets $16M budget goal (networkworld.com) 1

netbuzz writes: Thanks to some 630,000 individual contributions that averaged $22 apiece, Wikipedia has reached its fundraising goal of $16 million, founder Jimmy Wales announced over the weekend. Writes Wales: “ this year is a little more incredible than most because this year we celebrate Wikipedia's tenth anniversary. It's so important that we kick the year off just like this: by fully funding the Wikimedia Foundation's budget to support Wikipedia and all the sister projects as we head into the next decade of our work together.” The online encyclopedia now boasts of being the Internet's fifth largest site, which renews questioning by some as to whether it can afford over the long haul to stand by its policy of refusing advertising.

Yeah.. I've been experiencing even more spam these last few months. It's actually making it into my gmail inbox. A few, have even made it into my "priority" inbox too. Gmail was so great at spam filtering I only saw five or six pieces of spam a year. I've seen about 8 in the last 2 months.

I agree. I got back into WoW with Cataclysm. I quit for a few months every now-and-then because of classes. When I can't find time for homework plus wow after my job, I don't login for a month or so. Anyways, yeah, I eat a lot better food whenever I'm gaming constantly Apples for a snack instead of some chips and dip. I also find I'm not hungry as often. I'll look at the clock and notice three hours have gone by, and I "should probably" eat dinner, right after I finish this quest hub. Then it's midnight and I need to go to bed.
