And has remained fundamentally unchanged since its initial release in 2004. A plate of spaghetti code sauced with bad practices and topped with meaty ignorance of security.
The most infuriating codebase I have ever read, and a master class in how to write PHP badly. The last remnant of the not-undeserved poor reputation of PHP4.
Windows is designed to be sold, not used.
Wokeness doesn't ruin properties, at least not directly.
Woke writers with limited world experience, aggressive opinions, and poor writing skills ruin properties. They get hired because executives feel compelled to pander to the trendy/vocal audience rather than create a viable product.
tRoP will be a disaster (not that the astroturfed "superfans" reaction campaign will make it easy see through the gaslight), and I can't wait to watch this half billion dollars of Bezos' money go up in flames.
Broadcast TV has been a wasteland for a years, and you can see its budgets drying up. Cable has been overpriced and full of too many choices nobody wants for decades.
Netflix was the first big streamer and the first to reach the market saturation plateau. All the other studio-owned services will get there in 2-3 years. Wall Street is shitting itself over Netflix's subscriber losses because they reveal what the markets never want to hear: infinite, everlasting growth never lasts.
Now that all the other studios have set up their own services (except Sony, buck f&ck them and their CD rootkits) and brought their content in-house (thereby stripping Netflix of the reason most people had it in the first place), Netflix needs to start actually behaving like a studio:
Perhaps all of this could have been avoided if the cable providers offered (or were forced into) a la carte channel packages. They know the average viewer only watches about 12 of the 250+ they're forced to pay for via bundling. Most people don't watch ESPN but they still pay over $7/month for it (by far the most expensive bundle).
The DMCA was written by the music labels and movie studios specifically as a cudgel for tech giants to wield on fans and users. The entire process is designed to unreasonably favor copyright holders, who abuse it at every level.
Just ask Rick Beato.
Same shit, different name.
Same massive data-hoovering apparatus, same despicable twat at the helm, same privacy issues, same exploitative business model.
Same number of reasons not to have an Oculus.
Every Cloud services provider and backbone ISP wants you to keep thinking that.
For these users, nothing of value was... gained.
Redmond's silly DaaS strategy will inevitably fail at the consumer level (making Win8 look like a smashing success). I believe they are covertly working through a long-term plan to transform the Windows desktop environment into a GUI running on top of their own Linux distro.
No one cares about foldable screens or screen haptics, but they'll hype these pseudo-features anyway just as they have with every appearance of 3D TV.
I want to see non-glossy screens and screens that don't become opaque black mirrors in more than 10 lumens of direct light.
Privacy is anathema to their business model. 'Privacy-Safe' here is surely appallingly disingenuous.
Because that factory was was never going to be anything but vapor, a grift. It was obvious from the start.
Amazon is trying way too hard to make this appeal to everyone except existing Tolkien fans, and ensure that the half billion dollars they spent on this doesn't go up in flames upon release. They've managed to make sure all the marketing reeks of astroturf.
We can tell from the released footage that Elrond and Galadriel have been body-swapped.
I don't think a black dwarf intrinsically goes against canon, but they need to explain which clan she comes from. There are six possible viable answers, the wrong answer is Durin's folk.
The notion this production has forced that an audience can only identify with characters who look like they do is complete and utter superficial bullshit.
Bizzaro-world statements like this is why I can't respect Musk.
Trump is toxic, inciteful, and deliberately mal-informs for his own gain, on top of being a monumentally stupid puppet. He has his own platform now which is doing better than he deserves.
The right to free speech does not include the right to be heard. Not that this is a free speech issue because the First Amendment only prevents the government from silencing people.
