Actually, charging sales tax on shipping and handling is designed to simplify taxes. In some states, S&H was taxable and others it wasn't. Under the simplification, it's taxable everywhere.

You may have forgotten the days when Amazon made no profit on the books that it sold and made all its profit on shipping and handling charges. The merchant is required by law to account for all money collected as sales tax separately from the amount of the sale and to remit all sales tax collected to the state. If the merchant collects less than is required based on the sales, then the merchant has to make up the difference. To not remit all money collected as sales tax to the state is illegal.

Many good keyboards have double-shot molded keys. The keyboard marking is not just on the top of the key, it goes all the way through. You can wear the key down a full millimeter and still have a good marking.
