Comment Game as service = The experience is ruined later (Score 1) 20

The experience you buy into and are super hyped over will change to something you may not be interested in at any moment.
Hopefully you can shrug off the loss and switch to another game when your favorite gamemode is removed to push players over to the new crap.

Comment The problem is trust (Score 1) 126

There are pros and cons to encrypting the chatter, but it boils down to trust.
In many other countrys it is already encrypted, and police is required to post a datastream of events to media and private citizen alike. Because the police in these countrys have trust, and continually earn this trust, this works.

This blocks criminals from getting live info on exactly what police are doing and as such reduce the risk to the police of their information being misused.
In US, and especially NY, the police does not have the public trust. They prove time and time again that they do not deserve this trust. They can not be trusted to divulge information on a different channel about events for public information and safety. Prove me wrong, please.

You forget the theories of the missing enzymes allowing for breakdown of lignin in trees/plants. In essence there may have been a time when they grew like crazy and when they died, there was no way to break them down, letting them create very thick "layers" of biomass. Now this won't happen as the biomass is broken down instead of turning into oil/coal. Brown coal which has not been fully converted yet is called Lignite btw...

Comment What happened to protected mode? (Score 1) 99

We have been forced to buy computers with trusted platform support, and the cpu's have ability to run code encrypted to only be decodeable on our cpu to allow for direct supplier-to-cpu code security, and executing in a protected and encrypted environment so as to safeguard against memory access by external parties. This has been in place for years now, yet I have not seen anything that uses this other than attempts to prevent users from running Linux on their laptops.

If this comes from the person who decided posting a creepy mail about what is in my email every morning or at start of workweek was a good idea then has no clue. This was discovered ago. It was even confirmed with rat experiments and using data from Chinese municipalities that have tracked cause of death for ages. They had found that over a certain % meat protein in the diet, your risk of cancer increases dramatically. Turns out, normal diet is well below this limit, but modern over-indulgence goes past it by quite some margin, thus these "diets" have a benefit by simply getting below the limit again. It's time to study the why people, stop repeating the same research. Find out why this is, we know that it is.
