Comment Re:Paid the IRS (Score 1) 41

The only reason the 16th amendment exists is because of a SCOTUS decision. Article I, Section 8 says: The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States. Furthermore Article I, Section 3 says: Representatives and direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers.

Literally built into the US Constitution is the right of the government (both Federal and State) to tax. They are free to tax you 110% of what you actually earn, should they wish. It's legally impossible to call it theft. There's nothing "radical" about this view - what's radical is all of the unamerican asshats who go around blabbering about how great MURCIA is, until they're asked to pay something and then it's "MURICA DUN TERK OUR MONIES". I'm just tired of the stupidity.

Taxation is a right of government and without any limitations described in the Constitution. You can be taxed for anything and by any amount so long as Congress passes it and the POTUS signs off on it. If you're an American/Constitutionalist then you cannot believe this is theft. Otherwise you're free to seek out a country that doesn't employ taxes. Good luck in whatever 4th world shithole you find yourself in.

So if I reproduce the flavor as a flavoring agent, am I in violation of the agreement? Does the GIAA (Grape Industry Association of America) send me a C&D? What if I host the chemical makeup of the flavoring agent, will they tell my ISP to suspend my internet? I kind of want to violate this agreement just to find out how far they're willing to go. Any food chemists willing to take this challenge up with me?

Well feel free to detail why you think that. They're working to maximize their profits and I find it hypocritical they demand Apple lowers the app dev fee to what they feel is more advantageous to them, but I certainly can't demand those same companies not charge me an outrageously stupid amount of money every month. If we're going the way of subscription services, $10/month/app is stupid expensive.

Epic Games wants me to pay $8/month to access various features of their game. I feel $8/month is far too much money and is unfair for those of us unwilling to allocate that much of our financial budget for a game. Will they lower their price to the $1/month that I feel is fair? If I don't want ads in my music and I use Spotify I have to pay $10/month to bypass ads ruining my experience. I feel that's unfair. How about $.50/month? I feel that is fair. This is more or less the core of at least a third of their stated issues.

Facebook and Google are private. The only way I have any control of them is to buy shares.

Personally I don't give a shit about some dumbass baker who believes in sky fairies and would let honest money walk out of the door because he's fantasized about sucking dick and is ashamed of it. But I also don't believe churches should be tax free. That land, every single asset, and every single dollar in the collection plate and the plate itself should be taxed equally to any business with no exemptions possible. After all, their "charity" isn't supposed to be for taxation purposes (and it's rarely ever actually free charity).

A publicly held corporation is NOT the same thing as the government. They are not owned by "the public". You and I can't go into a Google meeting and vote. It's still a "private" enterprise for the purposes of government. As far as rights they are "granted" - you can thank Republicans for taking the stance that corporations have various rights normally reserved for people.
