I used to think the same thing until I ended up paying for some charges I didn't make. Capital One's team of investigators concluded that the charges were my responsibility. I've been running Linux on the desktop for over 10 years now so I know it wasn't a trojan or some other malware on my end giving up the card number - it had to be an online service somewere that was hacked. I never found out who or how. I only ended up owing money for iPower Web hosting (would never in a million years use their service to start with), various gourmet coffee that was delivered to my house (ok I do like coffee but still wouldn't have ordered it online), video professor videos on using Microsoft Office (you know, if I should ever go back to Windows this may be handy???) and colon cleanser. WTF? I don't think they really did any investigating - just waited for a bit and then said it was my fault. Capital One offers no protection.

I doubt he would have gained any rank since he's been arrested so subtract 3 years. Then depending on when he joined (right out of highschool?) that would only give him 4 years in. At the end of my 4 years (back in the day) I had reached Spec 4. There wasn't a lot of room to go further without signing up again and going after training for newer missle systems. Like anything in life advancment takes planning along with the effort.

Devices with smaller drives like a cell phone, tablet or laptops like Google's Pixel would be more vulnerable. Perhaps if you created some javascript that simply made requests to iterated subdomains that simply returned a small amount of javascript that then generated large amounts of text to store locally? The bandwidth needed would be much less then and the same amount of damage done. I have no idea if this scenario is possible though so take this with a grain of salt.

Yes, I don't have an alarm clock or any other clock in my bedroom. Other than for showering (although it is water proof) and doing physical work that which may break my watch I do not take it off. I have had it for 5 years now. It is a Citizen Eco Drive which is battery/solar powered. Very accurate and long lived. Good luck with the long lived part on a smart watch!
