+ - Cross-platform iPhone/Android/RIM apps made easy->

Submitted by ruphus13
ruphus13 writes: The iPhone has been wildly successful with the developer community, and Android and RIM are working aggressively to do the same. However, developers still have to port applications for each platform, and so they often end up choosing one. Until now. PhoneGap is an Open Source project looking to address this issue, and allow developers to crank out cross-platform applications extremely quickly and easily. From the article, "PhoneGap is an open source development tool for building fast, easy mobile apps with JavaScript. If you're a web developer who wants to build mobile applications in HTML and JavaScript while still taking advantage of the core features in the iPhone, Android and Blackberry SDKs, PhoneGap is for you...The creators of PhoneGap think it's nonsense that developers have to write the same app in several different programming languages to reach the widest swath of mobile phone customers, so they developed an open source, cross-platorm framework that bridges the gaps among them."
