bmsleight (710084) writes "The BBC are reporting that two computer discs holding the personal details of all families in the UK with a child under 16 have gone missing. Data on them includes name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number and, where relevant, bank details of 25 million people, (including me) were lost by the HM Revenue & Customs. The two CDs were send by internal mail, using a plain password, the data was not encrypted."
