Microsoft forces automatic updates yet again

  • It's Microsoft's policy that this only ever happens when not updating would result in any further automatic updates to install, thus also, not "obeying" user-settings on updates - and potentially leaving the machine in an insecure state. Again, you can disable the service if you want to do your own patching, or use WSUS to roll out patches.

    That's what they say anyway. Whether you believe it or not is a different matter of course.
