Submission + - Carved book art by Brian Dettmer (

An anonymous reader writes: Brian Dettmer's brilliant idea is to bring new life to old books by sealing and then cutting into them to create incredible three-dimensional works of art. These are particularly amazing considering that Dettmer does not add or move any of the content within the books, including old engineering handbooks, textbooks, dictionaries, and encyclopedias. I wonder if an over-aggressive copyright owner would ever try to stop Dettmer from showing or selling these "derivative works"? Go here to see many examples of his awesome art work.
