Submitted by DavidGilbert99
DavidGilbert99 (2607235) writes "Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the founder of the world wide web, looked rather sad today when asked what he though of his invention being turned into the greatest spying tool ever seen. He quietly said: "It's a shame to have it threatened and that people might feel nervous about using the web at all." He called the spying carried out by the US and UK governments insidious and chilling, but remains upbeat that the web is a "tremendously positive force.""
