+ - T-Mobile to offer US customers free unlimited international data when overseas->

Submitted by GatorSnake
GatorSnake (1978412) writes "T-Mobile's latest shake-up puts international roaming rates in its sights, with the carrier eliminating fees for data and text messages entirely in more than 100 countries. It will also simplify the calling rates, charging a fixed rate of 20 cents per minute. "People are scared to death to use your phone around the world," CEO John Legere told CNET in an interview. "We're taking a big stab and we're going to make the world your home network."

Will this move finally start a trend to eliminate the standard industry practice of gouging customers just for turning on their smartphones when abroad?"
