rjkimble (97437) writes "In June, the USPTO solicited proposals for voluntary best practices supporting intellectual property enforcement, especially against infringement that occurs online. It received 23 responses from individuals and organizations, including Google, the EFF, and the MPAA and RIAA. Today they were posted to the USPTO web site."

  • See the chilling vision of restrictions for payment processors, expanding the Alert System program, collecting data on rogue sites.
    No more sites: A demand to sign up to stopping "distributing malware, abusively operating botnets, phishing, piracy, trademark or copyright
    infringement, fraudulent or deceptive practices, counterfeiting or otherwise engaging in activity contrary to applicable law" on your new site.
    Lower search results for site, better down notices for online storage service sites, automated f
