+ - British Government Backs SABRE Skylon Rocket ->

Submitted by judgecorp
judgecorp (778838) writes "The British Government is putting £200 million into space technology, including £60 million to the SABRE (Synergistic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine) project, which can reach Earth orbit using a single re-usable stage. SABRE can operate as an air-breathing jet and a rocket using stored oxygen to burn. Science minister David Willetts says it will create 21,000 engineering jobs in the UK, and help Britain take ten percent of the space technology market."
