Submitted by judgecorp
judgecorp (778838) writes "Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel has demanded that US firms should meet German privacy rules and given her backing to proposed European privacy regulations. Merkel's stance comes as US firms lobby against strict EU privacy proposals — but also follows revelations from Edward Snowden through German newspaper Der Spiegel, that the German authorities are helping the NSA spy on German citizens. ."
