Submission + - Carbon inhaled by Amazon Rainforest is exhaled by Amazon River->

An anonymous reader writes: It was previously believed that the Amazon river swept the rain forest's carbon to the ocean floor where it was locked away. However a new study by the University of Washington shows that most of it is released as carbon dioxide by bacteria and fungi in the river.
