Submission + - teardownthispaywall: push the ACM to go open access (appspot.com)

An anonymous reader writes: Most research in computer science is publicly funded, but gets published at conferences run by the ACM, who puts the articles up behind a paywall! Right now, individual authors can make papers available on their websites, but computer science deserves Open Access! The ACM should make it easier for research to get distributed, not harder. The petition is just now getting rolling, but some pretty important researchers have signed.
