mask.of.sanity (1228908) writes "Encrypted user data on Android phones can be cracked by placing devices in a freezer to preserve RAM.
The cold boot attack, demonstrated on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, broke the implementation of full disk encryption in Android 4.0. It worked on rooted devices, however contacts, photos and messages can still be plucked from stock phones.
The forensic tool, dubbed FROST, can be downloaded here."
