Submission + - Canadian Astronaut Collaborates on Song From ISS (geekosystem.com)

Kenshin writes: "Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield is currently on the International Space Station, and he's been very interactive with us stuck down here on Earth. He tweets daily, posting photos and replying to tweets, he "dropped" the puck in the hockey season's opening game, and he even had an interview with William Shatner. His latest thing was to perform a song with the alternative rock group Barenaked Ladies.

I don't recall there being an astronaut this engaged with the public in a very long time, if ever. Could publicity like this renew the public's interest in the space program, and move their perception of astronauts beyond the straight-laced space-age archetype into a more modern role model?"
