judgecorp writes: "Researchers have used a Raspberry Pi to build a mobile phone base station. The $30 Linux computer, plus some open source software was hooked up to radio systems by PA Consulting in Cambridge UK, working in a closed facility to avoid interfering with licensed spectrum."
