DavidGilbert99 writes "Having already produced a baby, and raised over $700,000 for a 68-year-old school bus driver who was being verbally abused children, Indiegogo is now planning something on a much grander scale.

Co-founder, Danae Ringelmann, announcing an expansion of the site told IBTimes UK: "I fundamentally believe that crowd-funding is becoming a permanent part of the whole finance eco-system.”

She believes that Indiegogo's open platform will allow anyone with a business idea to get investment, when traditional routes to financing may be shut.

Indiegogo doesn't stop any idea and lets you post your campaign on the site no matter how crazy it may seem, while other crowd-funding sites pick and choose which to feature — meaning they are the final deciding factor on which projects get funded and which don't."
