An anonymous reader writes "I stumbled upon Google's automatic 'safe browsing diagnostic' accusing Google's own domain (google.com) of hosting "245 trojan(s), 16 scripting exploit(s), 10 exploit(s)". It also says that "over the past 90 days, google.com appeared to function as an intermediary for the infection of 23 site(s)", and went on to accuse another of Google's domains (googleusercontent.com) of "functioning as [an intermediary] for distributing malware to visitors of [google.com]".
Presumably the tool is referring to malicious content indexed and cached by Google's search engine. Is this an example of Google outsmarting themselves?"
