+ - petitioning the ISO to recognise the Bitcoin symbol in ISO 4217->

Submitted by Anonymous Coward
An anonymous reader writes "Bitcoin users have started petitioning the ISO to include a three letter symbol for Bitcoin in ISO 4217. In their argument for the ISO to take notice, they have quoted the recent work by ETH Zurich (vouching for the integrity of Bitcoin) and October's report from the European Central Bank. Previous attempts to have Bitcoin recognised where fobbed off with excuses that are now easily contradicted. This may be a major coup for Bitcoin if it is pulled off."
