+ - Australian Government dumps broad internet filtering plan->

Submitted by Anonymous Coward
An anonymous reader writes "The Australian government has dumped plans to legislate to force ISPs to implement a broad internet filter, instead using existing legislation to force ISPs to block content on the Interpol 'worst-of' blacklisted sites.

The government had sat on the idea for three years, however it had little chance to succeed in the current Parliament with both the Coalition and the Greens opposed"
