An anonymous reader writes "Eliacom Inc has launched a beta release of its new open source MYSQL front-end. But rather than letting its community discover bugs and just get frustration in return, Eliacom is paying $10 for every unique bug found.
“There’s nothing I hate more than having a piece of software I use break,” says Eliacom’s head developer, David Flammer. “We want to reward our users for not only finding bugs that we couldn’t, but we wanted to replace the bad taste in their mouths with a free lunch.”
During this recession that has affected so many people, a quick way to earn some money for lunch and possibly even more is only a bug away. Once Eliacom has verified that a reported bug is genuine and unique, it will either mail you a check or send you the money you’ve earned through Paypal.
What’s in it for Eliacom? “This will encourage people to use our most cutting-edge software and is also an incentive for us to make the highest quality product possible,” says Flammer."
