An anonymous reader writes "The 2012 ESA Summer of Code In Space (SOCIS) starts Mentoring organization (i.e. open source space-related projects) that want to participate can apply from now until 15/07/2012.

Modeled after the Google Summer of Code, SOCIS is an European Space Agency (ESA) initiative and offers students the opportunity to be paid to develop open source code for space related open source projects.
