+ - cgroups shake up the world of shared hosting->

rdelon writes: "Traditional shared hosting has always suffered from the “bad neighbor problem”: your site runs fine until another user on the machine decides to encode 20 video files and all of the sudden your site is very sluggish.
That problem can now be history thanks to cgroups which were introduced in version 2.6.24 of the Linux kernel.
Shared hosting provider WebFaction explains how it works.
This simple feature could be a major improvement for the millions of sites running on shared servers."
