judgecorp writes "Angry human rights activists asked Vodafone to explain why it agreed to shut down its network and send text messages on behalf of the Egyptian government during the January uprising (an action which proved costly but ineffective). Acting as shareholders' proxies at Vodafone's AGM, activists won a meeting with the company to discuss the issue."
