+ - Can Robot Competitions Save U.S. STEM Education? 1

theodp (442580) writes "Tonight at 8pm ET, CNN is airing Don't Fail Me: Education in America. The documentary (trailer) follows three high school students in the national FIRST Robotics competition, which aims to get kids inspired to study math and science. Be interesting to see if CNN host Soledad O'Brien (who ironically chose a TV career over science herself) also interviews the national champs who were coached by NASA and MIT (Holy Pinewood Derby, Batman!). So, can robot competitions save U.S. STEM Education? Google seems to think so, based upon the $3 million it awarded FIRST last September as a Project 10^100 winner."
