Orlando Sanford International Airport has decided to opt out from TSA screening. "All of our due diligence shows it's the way to go," said Larry Dale, the director of the Sanford Airport Authority. "You're going to get better service at a better price and more accountability and better customer service."

I could see this becoming a trend and spreading to other airports. Americans attach nakedness to intimacy and any instance that causes the exposure of our bodies leaves us feeling very vulnerable. I do not foresee that changing anytime in the near future, and I think many people will appreciate places with alternatives to TSA.

The brief article seems to conflict with this post's opening sentence. According to the article, the TSA requires airports that have private security ("private airports"?) to follow TSA guidelines, performing the same manual examinations and body scans as the TSA does. How is that opting out of TSA screening in any way besides having someone else do it?
