Microsoft to remove 3 app limit on Starter edition

Comments Filter:
  • Rumors are abundant that Starter edition will now become something similar to a Netbook edition and will only run if your screen size is less than or equal to 10"

How can it detect that? My cousin has an Acer Aspire one with an 8.9" screen and a VGA output. And as I type this, he's in the same room as a 32" Vizio monitor with a VGA input. Would Windows shut down if he tried to run a cable from one to the other?

Isn't Microsoft's software crippled enough without them deliberately limiting it's abilities? I don't understand why they would put hard limits on anything. Perhaps a warning or something but it seems silly for someone to knowingly by a crippled product.
